About The Eve Appeal

Help us in our aim to halve death rates from ovarian cancer! Each year in the UK 6,600 women are diagnosed, and 4,400 women die from the disease.
The Eve Appeal 's current focus is to raise vital funds for research into prevention, detection, treatment and care of ovarian cancer. The ambition is simple: to complete and make available an early-detection technique that will have the effect of halving present death rates from ovarian cancer.

On the Isle of Man, we are raising awareness so that the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer don't go unnoticed. It is an uncommon disease, but we have lost ladies from our community and many others have been affected, and gynae cancer is often misdiagnosed. This weblog is in aid of raising awareness by networking for the Eve Appeal on the Isle of Man. I'm the ROCC for the Isle of Man (Regional Ovarian Care Co-Ordinator- it's a unique voluntary position- there's 65 of us throughout the British Isles) managed by Ruth Grigg, Volunteer Services Manager at Ovacome: email Ruth.Grigg@ovacome.org.uk. I'm here to represent the voice of women on the Isle of Man regarding ovarian cancer. I can also be a toothy smile to accept donations & do media photos :) All donations go to the Eve Appeal. Personally, I enjoy creating special events that help raise funds in our aim to lower death rates of ovarian cancer through early detection.
